Lizards in the Lava

The Lizards thoroughly enjoyed their visit to Craters of the Moon. As natural denizens of harsh landscapes, they like anything volcanic. Neither of them has been to Hawaii so this was a really great volcanic experience for them. Here they are perched at the edge of Big Crater. There was a gusty wind blowing into the crater, so I had to anchor them in the lava a bit to make sure they wouldn't be blown over the edge into the abyss.

Here they're hangin' on the pahoehoe. Blow the pic up to get a better idea of some of the colors still present in the lava, though it's 2 thousand years old.
