Fabulous Ecola

I stopped at Ecola State Park last week, not long before dusk, and things just clicked. I've been here many times before, but as far as I can recall, never at this time of day. The light was great, and the haze made for some magical pictures. These two shots are looking south toward Cannon Beach. The large rock in the distance that looks like, well, a haystack...is called Haystack Rock! There is another Haystack Rock about 50 miles farther south, at Cape Kiwanda, that is almost identical.

And, some of the locals were having dinner. For some reason, the elk weren't using the picnic tables. The elk love to graze in the berry patches, just like my friend Connie!
