Hottubbin' in the Great White North

I spent a couple days at Halcyon Hot Springs, a pleasant resort deep in the British Columbia bush on Arrow Lake, actually a wide spot in the Columbia River with the aid of a downstream dam. As you can see, the setting is awesome. The resort has four pools; soaking pools at about 105 and 100 degrees F, a swimming pool around 85, and a plunge pool at 55 degrees. On Sunday, it was hot outside and the plunge pool actually felt good! I stayed in a cozy cottage overlooking the lake. The resort has a fine resturant with delectable food. It's all pleasantly decadent.

The mountain across the lake from the resort was wonderful; jagged and wild, it seemed to change moods as often as the weather. I believe it's called Mount Odin, about 9750 feet high. This view is from the deck of my cottage. Wild country hereabouts; I saw a moose by the side of the road on the way to the resort! My first moose sighting in the wild!
